Mountains of bottles flood Gavin Park for Boy Scouts

Main Youth     Summer Programs     Cub Scouts     Boy Scouts     Girl Scouts     4-H     Gavin Park If you have any comments or sugestions: E-Mail me		Wilton supports the Boy Scouts and stockpiles returnable bottles and cans until the twice a year day when the bottles and cans can be turned into the Boy Scout collection depot at Gavin Park.    And there were thousands and thousands of cans and bottles turned in Saturday at Gavin Park. And for people who could not make it to the park, Boy Scouts and their parents made pick-up runs.    Once the cans and bottles arrived at Gavin Park, the work really began. Every bottle and can had to be sorted before delivery to the recycling center in Albany. That's because the Boy Scouts received an extra cent-and-a-half for every bottle and can turned in. And for thousands of cans and bottle that mounts up.    Troop 24 has its Bottle and Can Drives in June and October. And the Drives are the major fund raisers for the Troop. The Troop is based at the Dorothy Nolan School. Just like Cub Scout Pack 24.    The Troop welcomes any boy interested in scouting and members come not from Wilton but Saratoga Springs, Greenfield and Schuylerville.
