Wilton Christmas Tree lighting and Santa at Gavin Park December 6 |
||
|
The tree lighting at Gavin Park began when Carol Parkhurst donated a tree in honor of her late husband Spencer and the Parkhurst family. Long time Wilton residents Parkhurst Road is named for the family. Since then Carol has lit the tree for the Town. Friday December 6 found Councilman Jack Fleming during the honors at the ceremony. Jack took the occasion to commend Kirk Woodcock and his Highway Department workers for the dedication and work to keep the Department functioning after the November 3 Garage fire. Fleming also commented on the outstanding support Wilton received from our neighboring communities. After Carol lit the tree, Santa arrived in the Maple Avenue Emergency Services vehicle (always ready to help if reindeer need a break). Refreshments were served in the Rec Center while Santa met and talked with the kids. |
